In my visual language class, I created a sequence of blocks, which when viewed at the right angle created a 'Z'. Here are some other examples of sequences through space.
Channel 4 Idents
These Channel 4 idents are possibly the most famous examples of sequence through space today. The different parts of the 4 only make sense at one point when the different positions fall together.
Shelter, a giant number 4 made from discarded umbrellas by Stephanie Imbeau, winner of Channel 4's public art competition, stands illuminated in front of the Channel 4 building. The piece is constructed from unconnected blocks so that it only appears as the number 4 from a certain viewpoint.
Stage Sets
Stage sets are also examples of sequences through space, as they only work at the angle of the audience. Those on stage or at the sides will not see the set as it is intended.
Skateboarders
This is a different idea, but still an example of sequence through space. This image contains a merge of screen shots of a skateboarders moves.
